Quick response to question: Slater or Ryan?

Class,

Please post a one-two-sentence response to the following question: Which text will you respond to in the next essay, Ryan's Ted Talk or Slater's article? In your response, provide an explanation for your choice. What specifically interests you? What makes it easier or more interesting for you to respond to your chosen text?

I look forward to reading your responses

  1. For the essay I am going to write about the article, "A Million First Dates" by Dan Slater. I chose the article because I feel like I can relate to the article and what the article is about than Christopher Ryan's monogamy speech. Although both texts talk about monogamy, I believe that Slater's essay is more involved in my generation because it involves online dating, and relationships, especially the people involved that are around my age.

  2. In the next essay I'm going to be responding to Dan Slater's article, "A Million First Dates." Slater's article felt more understandable than Ryan's Ted Talk did and because of this I think I'll be able to write more about this article than I would about Ryan's Ted Talk.

  3. I will be using Dan Slater's article, "A Million First Dates" for the next essay. I feel like the article has more substance to write about than the Ted Talk. I also find the subject matter better than the Ted Talk. Plus I like the feeling of having a hard copy to work with and make notes on.

  4. For the next essay I'll be using the Ted Talk by Christopher Ryan. I felt like the speech kept my interest more than Dan Slater's article, "A Million First Dates". So I believe I'll be able to write more about Ryan's speech than Slater's article.

  5. For this essay I will be choosing Dan Slater's article "A Million First Dates." I found Slaters article more intriguing than Cristopher Ryan's Ted Talk presentation. I not only understood it better than the video but as Ryan Miga stated found it easier to have a hard copy rather than re watch the presentation and take notes.

  6. In my next essay, I chose to write about the article, "Are We Designed to be Sexual Omnivores" by Christopher Ryan. Because there's a lot of controversial arguments Ryan has on human sexuality, it's a strong topic that I would like to go against on especially against a person's belief that there's no necessity in sexually exclusive relationship (monogamy).

For this essay I will be discussing Christopher Ryan's article, "We Are Designed To Be Sexual Omnivores. I made this choice because Ryan's article and TED talk are of more interest to me than Slater's article.
